As a proud fifth generation Texan, mother and grandmother, I have to say that it still warms my heart whenever I receive a personal gift on Mother’s Day. I prefer to receive something that does not have to be plugged in or that comes with instructions, a beautiful handmade card is the best with a little trinket to go with it.  If some of you are still wondering what to get for Mother’s Day-here are some great ideas and even if it does not get there on the day at least you can put in the card a little message that an additional remembrance is on its way…

-Manicure or Pedicure gift certificate with a great gift basket containing a WT Greer CD, Moose Milk Hot Chocolate 16 oz., Lazart Bookmark, SOS Organic Cotton Night Shirt-One Size, Lazart Candleholder, Scented Votive Candle, and a Round Top O’Lavender Soap Sampler.

-cook her lunch or dinner at your house and invite a few friends or family members to surprise her and to help with the meal check out the Chuckwagon Sisters cookbook and wow her with some new recipes after all the cooking she has done for you.

-Go Green! Mother Nature and your mother may be earth-conscious so she would be pleased to get one of Mystic Angels inspirational pendants made from recycling dominoes and beads. Each has a saying engraved on it and it hangs on any chain.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you mothers, grandmothers, great-grandmothers in Texas and in the rest of the country.  Please enjoy your special time with your loved ones this weekend.

Here is a little quote from Lady Bird Johnson that I love, “Children are apt to live up to what you believe of them.”

Much love from Texas,

Shannon
